Renaissance Marketplace renovations

Local giant Meta Corp. ordered a full-scale renovation, reconstruction and repositioning round at both retail properties it owns in the center of Aruba’s capital Oranjestad. Currently work is ongoing at Renaissance Marketplace.

Renaissance Mall – formerly Seaport Mall – has been transformed from a regular shopping mall with shops in all price categories to a high-end mall with international brands such as Louis Vuitton, Salvatore Ferragamo, Bvlgari and Gucci to mention a few. The intended clientele is visitors with deep pockets from mostly from US and Venezuela.

On the other hand, Renaissance Marketplace – formerly Seaport Marketplace – is turning into a more local friendly mall with shops which offer better deals. There are a couple of restaurants that are very popular with locals such Café The Plaza and fast food places such as Subway, Dunkin’ Donuts, Häagen-Dazs and Taco Bell. Especially the fast food places are very popular with the tons of young executives and other employees working in the area who only have a few minutes to spare to grab a quick bite. Additionally there is The Cinemas movie theather, which is cheaper than the one located at Palm Beach mall Paseo Herencia. Reportedly a Starbucks is scheduled to open at Renaissance Marketplace.
