The Aruban Resort Renovation
Renovations ongoing at The Aruban Resort

For over a year now The Aruban Resort has been going through a rigorous renovation, both internally and externally. The renovations are mostly cosmetically, as there isn’t much structural change visible. Be that as it may, nevertheless, it was much needed.

After KL Holding, and other partners, took over the property work started immediately to transform the resort, the restaurant (which now is a casino) and the old casino. That is well over a year ago. In November 2007 I wrote a post with photographs of the new, much better looking, interior.

Currently, the renovations seem to be taking a bit longer than it should and I can’t help but think that perhaps something is the matter. Some sources have indicated to me that currently there are some internal issues ongoing, however I haven’t confirmed anything independently, therefore I won’t speculate. Meanwhile, below are some more fresh pictures of the external renovation.

  1. I was there last year in March of 2010, are there any improvements/updates ? No resturants no casino as on the expedia website

There has been some minor movement as of late. A commenter here said that the casino would open in the second week of February but that didn’t happen. What did happen is that this week the sign of Key Largo Casino was removed. Now there’s only “Casino”. Another sign has been put of: Mamuri’s Restaurant & Steakhouse. Finally some things are changing.

  2. Thanks, I’ll be going in the next few weeks, since last year i was disappointed, i wasn’t sure if these updated had been done by new owners and if it was worth giving them another shot.

I think they’ve just kept the place. I haven’t seen any major improvements. The pictures on Expedia seemed taken from the heydays of the Old Aruban Resort.

  3. hi,
what’s this picture of a room all about, nothing like the room i was in last year.
