Come enjoy Eagle Beach [picture taken year ago]

As the travel world is coping with the challengers ahead, there are lots of opportunities for travelers still wanting to go away on a well deserved vacation. Currently most travelers coming to Aruba are the ones who have already pre-paid their trip months ago.

If you are planning to visit and can afford to do so, by all means, go right ahead. However, make sure you travel financially responsible. Oil prices are down, traveling in general seems down. Make sure you hunt for deals. I’ll give you a hand. Following a few hot deals I found.

Downtown Oranjestad
View of Aruba’s capital from the Marina. There are still wet here and there from the rain.

October 2008 is turned out to be a very wet month for Aruba standards. Next week for sure there will be more data, but I’ve already heard that October has broken all previous records. Rain is supposed to continue in the coming weeks by extremely less amounts.

I’m sure you are aware that a storm originated near this island, and later formed into what became Hurricane Omar. Soon after its formation north west of Aruba, it started pouring for almost 24 hours non-stop on Aruba. I wrote and took several pictures on that storm.

Landscaping phase at Morgan’s Island

A lot of work has been put lately in the final stages before opening of Morgan’s Island water park. After seeing what they have accomplished as of late, I believe grand opening is days away rather than weeks. Finally, after 3+ years of delays, Morgan’s Island is going to open soon.

I haven’t heard or read anything about a specific date, or if it would a regular inauguration, fact remains that it’s not going to take long anymore. Morgan’s water park has become the most anticipated tourism related project in recent years on this island. More pictures after the jump.

Palm Beach Plaza Aruba
Landscaping planted by the entrance

Construction of Palm Beach Plaza shopping center project has advanced to the landscaping phase. After having dealt with some reported problems in mid-construction, this project is going to be delivered soon. There’s still a lot of work to be done though.

This shopping center is located adjacent to rival shopping center Paseo Herencia. It’s going to be interesting to see how the two projects are going to co-exist. Not only that, it’s going to be interesting to see how the prices per square meter is going to evolve.
