Longest Linear Park Of Caribbean Soon in Aruba

The Minister of Tourism has announced the details of the new to be constructed linear park. First of what the heck is a linear park? According to Wikipedia (by the way they need donations) a linear park is a structure that is much longer than it is wide. Basically it’s a long walkway path with some facilities. According to the Minister this linear park is supposed to be the longest in the Caribbean.

A more detailed look at this project reveals an ambitious plan. To become the longest linear park in the Caribbean as officials claim it’s going to cover the route of Surfside Beach (near airport) to the hotel area. The first phase of the park is from Surfside Beach to Wilhelmina Park (Renaissance).

At specific locations the linear park is going to feature additional services and infrastructure such as parking, showers and street lighting. According to the Minister, financing for Phase 1 is completed. Formalities and legal issues has also been resolved. After a public bidding process a contractor has been found and construction is scheduled to start before the year’s end.
