Hurricane Season Is Getting Active

As September is approaching, so are the storms. It’s getting very busy in the Caribbean hurricane corridor. Notice above image, one could draw a line from the first orange circle on the left to the last orange circle on the right and see all those systems seemingly neatly lined up.

Storm Fay did a lot of damage earlier this week, killer Tropical Storm Gustav and Tropical Storm Hanna are causing jitters going forward. Gustav already did considerable damage on the island of HispaƱola as well and now is aiming the Gulf Coast. Hanna, on the other hand, is eying the Floridian peninsula, according to preliminary reports.

Luckily in Aruba the worst we’ve had the last several days is the lack of wind – it’s hot and humid as a result – and scattered, heavy rain showers. Aruba is not expected to be affected by the storms in above picture. We are lucky here down south where the hurricanes don’t visit often. As a note of support, I would like to wish everyone in the path of the storms in the coming days, lots of strength and to be safe.
