Aruba’s best customer: Adventure of the Seas [video by Pierre]

The New Year started with a bang of tourism activity in Aruba. Yesterday and today Oranjestad harbor was honored by the visit of 4 cruise ships. On New Year’s Day there were Celebrity Cruises’ Summit and Holland America’s Zuiderdam, while today Royal Caribbean’s Enchantment of the Seas and Princess Cruises’ Caribbean Princess were in.

Together Summit and Zuiderdam brought a total capacity of 3,950, and today Enchantment of the Seas and Caribbean Princess together brought 5,546. It’s worth mentioning that Caribbean Princess is the biggest cruise ship in Princess Cruises’ fleet.

I’m sure many visitors arrived at a very sleepy island on New Year’s Day, after all the celebrations and fireworks. Many – retail – stores remained closed for New Year’s Day, however, there was still plenty of action as several tour operators had excursions going out.
