New York Times’ Summer in the Caribbean

Airlines are restructuring (cutting flights), airfares are on the rise and fuel surcharge it through the roof but still there are great deals to be found out there. According to New York Times many resorts on the Caribbean islands are slashing prices this time of year. Your favorite island’s sure on the list. The link to the list is at the end.

After the dust settles, when the airlines finally finish their restructuring, we’ll know for sure how much a round-trip to the Caribbean is going to cost. As mentioned before, don’t expect the fares to be ‘passenger-friendly’. Let’s take a snapshot of this period of time and compare it with a later moment in time. As of today, a round-trip ticket (full fare) with American Airlines, Miami – Aruba, costs $831.40 (+ taxes).
