The last few weeks I’ve seen an increase in search request for hurricane related news in Aruba here on arubabeaches.net. The reason for that is that I’ve actively reported about hurricanes in the past, and will actively do so this season once more.

The increase happens due to the fact that the 2009 Atlantic Hurricane Season is starting next month, from June to November. I notice that some are oblivious to the fact that Aruba isn’t in main hurricane paths. This island is down south, making it less likely to be hit by a hurricane.

Having said that, the simple fact that Aruba is located in the Caribbean makes us vigilant and be well aware of what’s going on with the storms, whether that storm is near us or not. Like always a word of warning and caution to all readers that I’m no meteorologist and you should always follow all official warnings from you local authorities.
