ATA Airlines Ceases Operation

This week is turning out to be a bad one for air carriers. Today ATA Airlines announces it was ceasing its operations effective immediately. After ATA filed for bankruptcy protection back in March of this year, today all flights has been canceled. All employees lose their jobs.

The shutdown of ATA is due to the lost of an important military charter contract. Together with the now infamous fuel prices, the company is doomed.

I write about ATA because several tour operators have chartered ATA Boeing 757′s in the past for flights from the US’ Midwestern states to Aruba.
