The last few years Aruba Airport has been steadily improving its finances and service to the public. The current management has taken measures across the board in order to improve overall performance.
When new management took over the operations of the airport they revised many contracts with its service providers, shop owners and employees. It also restructured long term debt. Not all parties were happy naturally and some sued the airport.
The airport has come a long way and things have improved considerably for travelers. In the past there were many flaws with Aruba airport and there’s still room for further improvements. For the second year in a row Aruba airport finishes in the Top 3 of best overall airport in the region, just behind Panama City’s Tocumen according to Skytrax’ World Airport Awards.
