Again: Hot Deals Aruba

Palm Beach more affordable than ever (I see a wedding there…)
Over the weekend there were two articles in The New York Times regarding the affordability of the Caribbean in general. Indeed, the islands are more affordable than ever. Add to the equation the lowered air fare across the board and you have an ideal situation.
Members of the local tourism organization AHATA previously declared that they won’t enter the price war expected this winter and later in the summer. However, I think it’s inevitable. Hotels such as Radisson Aruba, Westin Aruba and Holiday Inn Aruba are dropping prices and offering incentives.
Islands are not only cutting nightly prices, they are also cutting spending, such as marketing budgets. Aruba tourism officials have announced they are increasing marketing efforts and allocated additional funds to promote the island. “We want to be in their faces when the traveler makes their decision”, according to the president of AHATA.
