Adventure of the Seas Dropping Aruba

Adventure of the Seas docked in Oranjestad
Royal Caribbean International (RCI) has announced a change of focus with the cruise ship Adventure of the Seas (AOS). It’s going to be moved from the Caribbean to the Mediterranean. Next winter the AOS is going to be stationed in Malaga, Spain. Per April 2010 Adventure of the Seas won’t be visiting Aruba anymore.
RCI is replacing AOS with Serenade of the Seas. The latter is about a quart smaller in terms of passenger capacity. RCI was quickly to announce that the AOS will keep visiting Aruba during the winter season.
Competition doesn’t stay still. Carnival Cruises (CC) has confirmed calls to Aruba. In the past CC operated the most impressive and important cruise ship on the local calendar: Carnival Destiny.
Meanwhile cruise tourism officials have released the latest revision of 2009/2010 and it shows an increase in the amount of ships to Aruba in comparison to last year. It’s going to be a good cruise season. A very good season, perhaps even record setting.
